After Maria left for Bucharest, Amanda dived into work. She proposed to a publishing house the translation of a new release, a novel that was successful in Germany. The editor accepted, delighted. With this first contract started Amanda’s cooperation with the first publishing house. Amanda gave her best, all her talent as a writer that never wrote one line in his entire life. The novel turned out great. Amanda won her first money after her resignation, which was good, because she didn’t want to spend all her savings. And Ioan, although he was successful, medium towards good, he had to pay almost as much as he made on marketing, on living abroad, and he didn’t have money for anything else.
“How is Ana?” he asked her, after Amanda returned from her visit to Switzerland, “she still hasn’t found someone?”
“She hasn’t, but she is alright. She doesn’t really want to get involved now, Medical school is very difficult and she doesn’t have time for it.”
“Who would have thought,” continued Ioan sad for Ana, “that we will get here and that Ana and Mircea were going to break up?”
“Yes, everybody who knew us didn’t give us more than a few months,” giggled Amanda, “and a lifetime for them,” she then continued seriously. “I felt sorry for Ana. I know how much she suffered. But otherwise, how would she have left for Switzerland? Mircea would have kept her here, would have convinced her to stay in the country. And I am not saying that she wouldn’t have become a good doctor here as well, but it’s not the same! Being a doctor in Switzerland, one as good as Ana, means something. Here, the system is down. It would have been a shame for her to… So, yes, it’s better…”
“I’m not sure what to say,” thought Ioan. “If you were to choose between a career, no love and happiness in your love life, but a more modest career, what would you choose?”
“Eh, I would choose love, of course, you know me, how passional I am, she winked slickly.”
“Again?” he asked her. “We’ve just…”
“Yes, but I have missed you so much!” Amanda answered. “What, honey, you don’t love me anymore?” she wailed.
“Of course I do, how could I not love you?!”
“Then? Maybe you can’t handle it?”
“Don’t challenge me,” he said.
“I am challenging you!”
Amanda caught his head in her hands, kissing it as passionate as always. Ioan was crazy about her lips, so he couldn’t resist it.
“I am tired,” he said taking a break, “but you make my tiredness go away! What I don’t understand,” he said laughing, “is why do you still have those clothes on?”
Amanda laughed as well, then she entered the bathroom.
“Wait a second,” she said, “let me prepare for you, my love.”
She sent him another kiss, then she disappeared through the bathroom door.
